Spencer has developed several
athletic fields,
a fine city swimming pool, golf courses and many
outstanding programs for public recreation. In addition, this is also
the site of the annual Black Walnut Festival, a four-day celebration
that is highlighted by such traditional country events as livestock
exhibits, lumberjacking and firefighting contests, arts and crafts
shows, a grand parade and much more. Other events include Spring/Summerfest.
Charles Fork is a multi-use area with
over 20
miles of trails surrounding a 200-acre lake that sports
excellent fishing, canoeing and hiking.
The trails were developed by
local mountain bike enthusiasts and are one of the most beautiful
venues in the East. The mostly single-track trail system offers a
rewarding experience for all
levels of mountain bikers.
Charles Fork Lake is the site of the
popular Tour
